Draft Day: Experts League Update

The newly founded fantasy football experts league held its inaugaral draft this morning, and it looks like the competition is going to be pretty stiff. TJI represented itself well against 11 fellow bloggers and drafted what is certain to be a championship contender.

Here's how the draft order shook out:

  1. NFLGuru.net
  2. Curveballs for Jesus
  3. This Just In
  4. The Hazean
  5. FantasyFootballGoat
  6. FanProphet
  7. The NFL Minute
  8. TINO Sports Page
  9. FF Librarian
  10. MWC Football
  11. MyFantasyLineup.com
  12. Signal to Noise

These ladies and gentlemen provide some of the finest sports reporting in the blogosphere. We here at This Just In Fantasy Sports are privileged to be included in this exclusive group. With league-mates this talented it will be all the more satisfying to dominate throughout the season.

Let's cut to the chase and take a look at the TJI team (overall pick in parentheses)...

1. (3) Larry Johnson
2. (22) Carson Palmer
3. (27) Torry Holt
4. (46) Carnell Williams
5. (51) Marshawn Lynch
6. (70) Jerious Norwood
7. (75) Braylon Edwards
8. (94) Bernard Berrian
9. (99) Greg Jennings
10. (118) Randy McMichael
11. (123) Jake Delhomme
12. (142) Philadelphia
13. (147) Brandon Jones
14. (166) John Kasay
15. (171) Troy Williamson

This team is strong, to say the least. The Number 3 pick was a tough one and LJ is certainly a risky choice, but we believe Johnson will sign soon and produce a monster year. As for the remaining rounds, we reached for a couple of players at certain points, but stuck to our cheat sheets for the most part and ended up with several players in whom we strongly believe.

The team is heavy on WR and RB, as you can see, and this could help set up trades in the early week of the season. Overall, we couldn't be happier, and we urge you to follow our lead and draft these players yourselves. You'll dominate just like we will.

Want to share your thoughts or opinion of the team? Leave us a comment or send an email. And check back in the coming days as we break down the other owners' teams and give you some in-depth info about them and their blogs. And once the season begins, be sure to check in regularly for updates on the performance of TJI's uber-team of all-stars.

I sure hope for your sake that L.J. gets his butt in a uniform. Norwood is a good pick, i really expected him to have a good season but without Vick there's a little concern. However, Harrington may turn out to be a better passer in this Atlanta system and open up Norwood's running game.

Anyway, good luck to you.

I did the autodraft and just took Larry right out of the mix. That stuff scares me.

I am interested in seeing how Cadillac does this year with the Vet at QB. That could be a a nice value.

I bet you're happy LJ signed. You can breathe a sigh of relief!

All things considered, I think you walked away with a good team. But that's the beauty of fantasy football drafts: everyone thinks they walked away with the best team!

Good luck to you,
Tom

Yeah see I wished him in for you!:)

I did not want any type of unfair edge and potential excuses this season. :)

Way to go by keeping the faith. It sure does make for a better NFL when the best players are out there.
